Top photos of the year on display at IAF

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Photo News Agency currently is displaying Top Images of the Year 1389 at the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF).
A total of 340 photos taken by 281 artists during the past Iranian year, which began on March 21, 2010, are on display at the exhibition that runs until April 15.
The showcase is running at the Gholamhossein Nami Gallery of the forum located on Musavi St., north of Taleqani Ave.
Serbian version of “The Stories of the Truthful” published
TEHRAN -- Iran’s cultural attaché’s office in Belgrade published a Serbian version of “The Stories of the Truthful” (Dastan-e Rastan) by Morteza Motahhari.
The book was translated by Ahmet Alibašic for Serbian young adults based on Persian as well as English versions.
The book is a collection of short stories about Prophet Muhammad (S) and his household. “The Stories of the Truthful”, which has been rendered into many languages, was selected as the book of the year in 1965 by UNESCO.
Iran’s “Gold and Copper” competing in U.S. filmfest
TEHRAN -- The Iranian film “Gold and Copper” by Homayun Asadian will screen at the Filmfest DC 2011 -- Washington, DC’s International Film Festival which runs from April 7 to 17.
“Copper and Gold” features the story of Seyyed Reza who travels to Tehran with his family where he finds out about his wife Zahra’s disease. He has to change his life to accommodate new realities.

Iranian cartoonist awarded at Berlin competition
TEHRAN -- Iranian cartoonist Javad Takju was awarded at the 2nd International Cartoon Competition Berlin 2011.
He won the Limes Prize at the competition, which was held with the theme of “Dictatorship and Tolerance”..
